Frequently asked questions

About our service

What is Code Press?

Code Press is an outsourcing company. We specialise in converting graphical files, such as Photoshop Documents and Illustrator files into web pages using hand-written standards-based HTML, CSS and Javascript.

Why Code Press?

Our clients use us for a variety of different reasons:

  • Outsourcing is cheaper than developing in-house.
  • Using us can help avoid hiring that extra coder during the credit crunch.
  • Our unique specialism gives our clients access to world-class front-end development expertise.
  • Using us allows your in-house talent to focus on business critical projects; we are your flexible workforce.
What if my designs are highly complex?

We quote a final price on a project once we have received and reviewed each design. More involved designs with multiple overlapping backgrounds and complicated layouts will naturally cost more to produce.

Who uses Code Press?

Our service is used by a variety of individuals:

  • Web Designers who want to focus on the design rather than the Code.
  • Web Agencies who have a high workload and prefer to concentrate on the back-end programming.
  • Companies who would rather outsource projects to stay lean rather than hire full-time development staff.
What quality of HTML & CSS should I expect?

Code quality is of a very high standard. We use standard industry best-practices such as Plain Old Semantic HTML, validated XHTML & CSS and microformats.

We also have strict coding guidelines and exacting quality practices to ensure sites are delivered to the same high standards every time.

What external JavaScript scripts do you use?
What Browsers do you support?

Your finished site will be tested in all major Internet Browsers: IE6, IE7, Firefox 2, Firefox 3, Safari 3.1 and Opera 9.5.

Our current list of supported browsers is dictated by the Yahoo A-Grade Browser Support Chart

We can also accomodate other browsers on request, such as the iPhone or IE5.

What information should I provide?

Firstly, send us your designs – we prefer Photoshop PSD files, but we also accept JPEG, PNG, AI, PDF etc…

The more information we receive, the closer we will be able to work to your designs, so some other information you may want to submit will include:

  • Fonts – Submit actual font files to ensure they remain the same on your finished pages.
  • Description – Please provide any other information that will help us to more accurately transform your designs and ideas into web pages.
Will you sign an NDA?

We do not disclose which sites we have worked on or our clients without asking permission first. We are happy to sign NDAs if required.

What payment methods do you accept?
  • Paypal via credit or debit card.
  • Bank Transfer
  • Cheques in any currency can be posted to the following address
When do I pay?

Payment is to be made within 14 days from sign-off of the completed site.
